How to Put Money Back in Your Pocket in 1 Easy Move

In this article (the second installment of 7 Easy Steps to Accumulating Wealth) I would like to briefly discuss how you could put more money in your pocket by changing some things in your house.

The house necessities are heat, hot water and electric. We can't get around these utilities unless you want to move to the forest.

One of the easiest financial moves is to call the utility company (your electric company, your gas company, the water company and in some areas your sewer company) and set a monthly budget based upon previous use. This should save you money per month. It will also allow you to properly budget for utilities. There will be no monthly surprises.

For those of us who live back east, winter will be upon us before we know it. Some cost saving tips are insulating your windows and doors to preserve heat in the house. If you are cold, wear a sweater. Plus wearing a sweater allows you to hide your winter weight gain (hopefully you won't gain any weight this winter because I am going to show you how to avoid the winter weight gain).

Another way of reducing the energy out put is to place your thermostat on a timer. Use some extra blankets at night when the heat is lowered and set the timer for early morning so the heat will turn back on. It stinks to wake up to a cold house. Speak with your utility companies, as most will provide you with cost saving tips. Unfortunately, most folks don't follow through.

I want you to take action now for these costs saving household tips. If you haven't performed an analysis of what you spend to operate the house do it now. Just get an idea of what you are spending then you will know how to save and where to save. In turn this will put money into your pocket.

These little changes will lead to bigger savings and accumulation over time.

One more tip for the winter folks. This is a great time for families to reconnect. I know it sounds corny but wintertime is a great time to play cards and board games with the kids. They might not appreciate it now but when they become parents they surely will.
